BELGRADE, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Serbia beat Lithuania 4-1 in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier in Belgrade on Monday.

The match in the Group B at the stadium Rajko Mitic started without audience Despite lack of cheering, the home team took over the initiative over the much weaker opponent.

In just 15 minutes, Aleksandar Mitrovic separated Serbia and made victory almost certain.

He first brought the home team into a lead, with a goal in the 20th minute, and then shook the net of Lithuania once again in the 34th minute after an assist by Dusan Tadic.

Only a minute later, Luka Jovic sent a powerful show from 20-meter distance, straight into the net for 3-0.

Serbia's initiative weakened in the second half owing to their significant advantage, allowing Arvydas Novikovas to score a goal for the guest team from a penalty kick in 71st minute.

In the injury time, Adem Ljajic scored another goal for Serbia to seal the score.

This is the first victory for Serbia in the qualifiers from three matches, after one draw and one defeat. Lithuania so far had one draw game and suffered two defeats.
