KUNMING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The world's most prestigious beer festival Munich Oktoberfest will run its latest China tour from July 3 to 16 in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The two-week festival will be held under a 3,000-square-meter blue-and-white canopy in original Bavarian style with wooden decorations. It can accommodate over 2,000 people at the same time.

Visitors will not only have a taste of authentic German beer and Bavarian specialties such as the Schweinshaxe (crispy pork knuckle) and the Munich Weisswurst (white sausage) but also rice noodles, a famous local cuisine.

Yunnan musicians and the resident band of the festival will be invited to perform live. A series of activities integrating German literature and art with local ethnic culture will be held, including exhibitions, film shows, book sales and dance performances.

Oktoberfest's Kunming tour has attracted more than 200,000 citizens and visitors to the city since it began in 2016.
