SINGAPORE, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend down 1.18 percent or 41.23 points to close at 3,450.69.

A total of 2.67 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.51 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.15 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 309 to 155.
