MANILA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Personal remittances from overseas Filipinos increased by 3.5 percent year-on-year in January 2026, reaching 3.36 billion U.S. dollars, up from 3.24 billion dollars recorded in the same month of 2025, the Philippine central bank said Monday.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said cash remittances reached 3.02 billion dollars in January 2026, 3.5 percent higher than the 2.92 billion dollars recorded in January 2025.
The United States remained the top source of cash remittances to the Philippines in January 2026, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia, the BSP said. ■
